RJM's field-proven low NOx atomizer designs provide NOx reductions of 50% or more for register, venturi and tangentially fired burners.

RJM also has patented laboratory tested flow calibration and laser Doppler scanning to assure fuel throughput, droplet size distribution, injection velocities, and spray pattern meet ideal objectives.

How they work:
The atomizer tip assembly is designed with unique internally staged, fuel-rich/fuel-lean zones to significantly reduce NOx The sprayer plate uses controlled velocity gradients from the combined spray pattern of the atomizer tip assembly to reduce NOx formation during combustion.

Most fuel atomizers currently on the market produce a significant number of large spray droplets (generally greater than 200 microns) that cannot completely burn out during the short time they are in the furnace. This results in excessive particulate emissions and carbon carry-over levels.

Customized to each oil burner, our oil atomizers produce a droplet size distribution equal to 150 SMD (Sauter Mean Diameter) average or less. The droplet size is purposely limited to the range of 10 to 200 microns to assure complete burnout and achieve significant reductions in fly ash carbon.

Keeping atomized droplets from falling below the 10-micron range prevents the blue-white hydrocarbon plume, which is found when fuel is over-atomized. Fuel Oil Atomizers are generally installed at the same time as staged Flame Stabilizers; then Combustion Modeling is performed on the final design to ensure complete burnout.
