Products - Oil - Burner - Flame Stabilizers
Many serious problems in oil fired burners are related to flame instability. Our patented, vane-cascade technology is a proven, aerodynamically efficient method for stabilizing the flame ignition zone, and maximizing combustion performance.

Benefits:

  • Stabilizes the flame front over the turn-down range of the burner, and in the ignition zones.
  • Extends burner life.
  • Virtually eliminates burner thermal deterioration by preventing the recirculation of hot gases and combustion by-products onto burner components.
  • Controls windbox-to-furnace differential pressure to optimize combustion performance within existing forced draft fan characteristics and limitations.
  • Optimizes flame shape (for certain furnaces).
  • Controls swirl at the burner throat.
  • Enables burners to maintain full service reliability.

How they work:
RJM flame stabilizers employ a unique, variable curved air vane cascade to control airflow and burner swirl. This burner add-on aerodynamically creates an internal recirculation vortex to spatially anchor the flame front just downstream of the burner throat.

The vortex recirculation zone patterns force very high temperature gases back to the fuel/air mixing zone to provide a stabilizing, constant ignition source at a precisely defined position downstream of the burner throat. Further, the size, shape and location of the vortex prevent the recirculation of hot gases and combustion by-products onto fuel nozzles.

When needed:
Furnace pulsations; walking flame fronts; intermittent, weak scanner signals; heat-damaged burner parts; seized air register linkages; delayed flame ignition; overheated gas nozzles.

Installation:
Slip fit, bolt-on hubs enable installation in a matter of minutes.

"Walking flame fronts move away from, and back to, the burner. If the frequency of the flame fronts matches that of the furnace, combustion rumble occurs."
