About RJM - New Thinking
RJM’s low NOx burner add-on components set the standards for cost benefit and performance that everyone else is still trying to beat.
  • RJM was the first company to develop burner add-on components to make existing burners meet NOx compliance regulations. Before RJM created this cutting-edge technology, the only choice plants had was to replace an otherwise perfectly good burner with one that produced less pollutants. RJM’s low NOx burner add-on components set the standards for cost benefit and performance that everyone else is still trying to beat.

  • RJM developed and patented a selective, near burner zone spatial cooling process for NOx control. This provides as much as 35% additional NOx reduction beyond what can be achieved by low NOx burners.

  • RJM was the first company to demonstrate NOx reductions utilizing SNCR on cyclone-fired boilers. NOx reductions up to 40% were achieved with only a 20 ppm increase in CO levels.

  • RJM developed applications of new metallurgy for utility burners, which increased their service life by more than 400%. RJM’s engineers then expanded this technology to include the use of specialty ceramics to replace the high temperatures/high corrosion service metal components presently being used.

  • RJM restored full-load to twelve utility burners that suffered a significant loss of capacity after conversions from coal to oil. The difficult and very tight design of these burners required an innovative, three-zone, air register, and acoustic resonance controlled atomizers to restore capacity. The custom designs that RJM came up with were Firsts in the industry. And, all the customer's performance goals were met and exceeded on the initial run.

  • RJM developed the design concepts and operating procedures for the first successful geothermal waste-gas burner for a utility's cogeneration program.

  • RJM devised a procedure for predicting ash fusion temperatures from elemental chemical analysis to allow its customers to use waste fuels in oil- and gas-fired burners.

  • RJM established the combustion characteristics and systems concepts for supplemental - and 100% - firing of refuse-derived fuels. We also planned and directed the program that provided 100% self-sustaining capability of powered, refuse-driven fuels in industrial-sized burners. Eventually, the program was expanded to commercial use in large industrial and utility boilers.

  • RJM developed a laser fabric-filter, failure-detection system for an alloy steel manufacturer. With this system, they can now detect as well as correct early-stage breakdown of any of several hundred fabric filters in a multi-compartment baghouse.

  • RJM devised a new combustion control logic for a large forging operation, which allowed boilers to meet the shock swing load demands of steam-driven forging hammers.

It’s all about new thinking.

And RJM Corporation is first with that, too.
