RJM's patented NOx tempering burner technology is a front-end system that reduces NOx formation in the near-burner zone.
Benefits:
- For front-wall burners, NOx reductions can be as much as 35% above what can be achieved with burner NOx control add-ons.
- Use only 20% of the water conventional bulk water injection techniques require for the same percentage of NOx reduction. (At $109/ton of NOx removed, RJM's Combustion Tempering costs less than any other consumable material technology available anywhere.)
- When coupled with back-end technologies such as SNCR and SCR, Combustion Tempering reduces annualized operating costs by 65%.

How it works:
Research has shown that NOx production drops about 50% for every 190°F (88°C) reduction in temperature of the NOx production zone (located in the near-burner zone). RJM's engineers use discreet targeting injection equipment (a small, skid-mounted system) to deliver tiny quantities of a cooling medium (usually micronized water) directly into the high NOx production zones to reduce NOx formation temperatures and, hence, the amount of NOx produced.
Using computer-modeling test results, injection systems are designed to fix the droplet size and trajectory for maximum impact on the temperatures in the NOx production zone. Laser Doppler spray-testing verifies compliance with the design parameters. |
